Celebrating Success – Brigid Cotter Prize and Graduate Entry Awards

Multi cultural students celebrating success.

This blog post was contributed by Lisa Kidger, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Laws.

At the University of London, we take pride not only in academic achievement but also in the determination, creativity, and resilience our students show along the way. To celebrate this, we offer two awards to students who have excelled in their studies.

The Brigid Cotter Prize, funded by the Convocation Trust, is awarded to the four top performing students at who take and pass all four Level 4 modules (Legal system and method, Contract law, Criminal law and Public law) on their first attempt in one April-June examination session.

The Graduate Entry Award is awarded to the two top performing LLB Graduate Entry students who take and pass Contract law, Criminal law, Public law and Tort law on their first attempt in one April-June examination session.

To mark their success, we invited the winners for 2023/24 and 2024/25 to reflect on their experiences by answering three key questions:

  1. What study habits, strategies, or approaches do you think contributed most to your success?
  1. Were there any particular challenges you faced during your studies, and how did you overcome them?
  1. What advice would you give to other students preparing for future examinations?

Over the next few weeks, we will post insights from the winners set out below. (NB: The full list of winners for 2024/25 can be seen on the Student Recognition section of the VLE.)
